Our Favorite Sloppy Joes


  • One pound of Copper Penny Farm ground beef

  • Two stalks of celery, chopped

  • One small onion, chopped

  • 1 8-ounce can of chopped tomatoes or tomato sauce

  • ¼ cup ketchup

  • ¼ cup barbeque sauce

  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon of dry mustard

  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tablespoon of vinegar


  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef, celery and onion.

  2. Drain fat, if needed.

  3. Stir in remaining ingredients and simmer, covered, for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. Add salt and pepper to taste.  Serve on a toasted bun.
